BOOKKEEPING SUPPORT FOR U.S. CPA FIRMS

Preparation work that fits your firm's review process.

Bring defined bookkeeping work into a clear handoff. The Nexus Advisors prepares records, reconciliations, and supporting schedules under an agreed scope, giving your firm organized groundwork for its own professional review and client deliverables.

Our role is preparation and support. Nexus is not a CPA firm and does not hold a CPA designation. We prepare bookkeeping records and draft materials; your independent CPA handles professional review.

THE STARTING POINT

Your firm's instructions. A documented preparation scope.

Bookkeeping support works best when the inputs, responsibilities, and expected outputs are clear. We start with the work you want prepared, the records available, and the way your firm wants questions and exceptions presented. This can be a defined cleanup project or a recurring preparation routine.

Nexus is a bookkeeping and accounting support provider, not a CPA firm, and does not hold a CPA designation. Your firm retains its client relationship, determines the appropriate permissions and accounting judgments, and performs its professional review. Working with Nexus does not establish a CPA partnership or mean that any output has already been CPA-reviewed.

WHAT THE WORK CAN INCLUDE

A clear scope.
Useful preparation.

01

Bookkeeping preparation

Organize transaction records and prepare agreed bookkeeping entries using the information and instructions provided. Items requiring judgment or additional client explanations are flagged for your firm's direction.

02

Reconciliation work

Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations for the specified accounts and periods. Outstanding entries and differences are documented so your reviewer can see the available support and unresolved issues.

03

Draft reports and schedules

Assemble draft bookkeeping reports and supporting schedules in the format agreed with your firm. These are preparation materials for your review, not certified financial statements or independent professional conclusions.

04

Supporting document organization

Arrange the supplied source documents and references around the agreed work. Missing records are identified, helping your designated contact coordinate the information needed from the client.

05

A structured exception list

Summarize unanswered questions, proposed corrections, and matters requiring your firm's attention. Each handoff distinguishes completed preparation tasks from items still awaiting instructions or supporting evidence.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

From the first conversation
to a practical handoff.

  1. 01

    Define the assignment

Agree on the client files, accounts, periods, deliverables, and fees. Confirm software fit, access arrangements, naming conventions, and who in your firm will provide instructions and review the work.

  2. 02

    Prepare within your workflow

Work through the agreed bookkeeping tasks using access and records approved through your firm. Route questions and proposed changes to the designated contact rather than making unsupported assumptions.

  3. 03

Hand off for your firm's review

Deliver the draft materials and exception list in the agreed format. Your firm reviews the work, directs revisions, and determines the final treatment and deliverables for its client.

A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Questions before
we begin.

Who is responsible for professional review?

Your independent CPA firm performs professional review and retains responsibility for its judgments and conclusions. Nexus provides the agreed preparation work and does not certify or independently review financial statements.

Can the scope cover one project or recurring work?

We can discuss either approach. The scope depends on the condition of the records, preparation tasks, software fit, and your review timetable. Deliverables, timing, and fees are agreed before work begins.

Does Nexus provide tax, audit, or assurance services?

No. Our role is bookkeeping and accounting support only. We prepare the specified records and schedules; your firm handles any tax filing, audit, assurance, or other professional engagement it undertakes.
